Information about different types of UNDP contracts and their conditions, offered by the UNDP Office in Belarus
A- Fixed Term Appointment - local staff contract)
• Use of Contract Modality
Employed on core activities of continuing nature, within the UNDP office; activities not likely to be concluded within 3 years. For career staff, UNDP invests in individuals' training and career development. For example office staff - continuing functions, such as - finance, programme, and administrative staff, and continuing secretarial functions;
Upon accepting and signing of FTA staff member should discontinue his/her work at primary place of employment;
• Main Benefits Base Salary in USD: Salary scales are based on best prevailing local conditions. Salary is determined based on position level and experience of selected candidate.
Pension Plan: a/mandatory enrollment in the United Nations Joint Staff Fund by making two contributions; the staff member's share is 7.9% of monthly salary and UNDP share is double that share; b/voluntary contribution of 29% from declared amount by staff member to State Social Security Fund as per national legislation for participation at the national age plan;
Leaves: Annual leave: accumulates at a rate of 2.5 day/month i.e 30 working days/year;
Sick Leave: 65 days full pay per year plus 65 days half pay; Certificate from doctor is required;
Maternity Leave (16 weeks);
Paternity Leave (4 weeks);
Other Benefits: Language allowance after passing the UN language exam, Child allowance with accordance to salary scale up to 6 children;
Medical Insurance Plan (MIP): Staff member and dependents are covered globally under MIP scheme for medical, dental, life, and disability.
Malicious Acts Insurance Policy (M.A.I.P): Coverage for staff member located at, or traveling to, a designated hazardous duty station subject to compliance with MAIP. The purpose of MAIP is to cover the eligible staff member for death or disability caused by a malicious act, such as war, revolution, and terrorist acts.
B- Service contract (SC- National)
• Use of Contract Modality
Work is not part of UNDP's central core work; is within project context (national project execution, direct execution, etc.) or in UNDP office on work that could be outsourced, but for which outsourcing is not feasible or desirable under special circumstances.
It is issued for a minimum period of 6 months and maximum of one year, extendable up to completion of project activity. Renewal of an SC is subjected to performance, project duration & needs, and budget availability.
Upon accepting and signing of SC, the SC holder should discontinue his/her work at primary place of employment;
• Main Benefits Base Salary in USD: Monthly remuneration rate is based on the service contract scale (different from UN) at local market conditions for specific job.
Pension Plan: Enrollment to the State Social Security Fund is mandatory. All SC holders are responsible for enrollment and payment of contributions on individual basis with accordance to national legislation. The contribution should be the 29% from the amount declared by SC holder.
Leaves: Annual leave (accumulates at a rate of 2,0 days/month i.e. 24 days/year)
Sick Leave (accumulates at a rate of 1 day/month i.e 12 days/year). Certificate from doctor is required;
Medical Insurance: SC holders are medically covered by Vanbreda International Insurance company for medical and dental services. The premiums are fully paid by the UNDP and at no cost to the HC holder.

C- Individual Contractor (IC)
• Use of Contract Modality
Whole range of short-term and long-term consultancies, whether in project context or within UNDP office. The terms of reference should be incorporated in the IC and must clearly indicate the timeframe for the expected deliverables. Example: auditing service, lecturers, translation/interpretation services, and consultants (national or international).
IC holder may continue having his/her primary place of employment while having the IC contract with UNDP;

Base Salary in USD: Remuneration rates are based on market conditions for the job
Social Benefits & Leaves: Not Applicable

UNDP shall have no liability for taxes, duties or other similar charges payable by the Individual contractor in respect of any amounts paid to the Individual contractor under this Contract, and the Individual contractor acknowledges that UNDP will not issue any statements of earnings to the Individual contractor in respect of any such payments.
