Antonius Bernardus BROEK,

UNDP Resident Representative in the Republic of Belarus

On 31 July 2008 Mr. Antonius Broek, UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus presented his credentials to Mr. Sergei Sidorsky, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Mr. Broek graduated from the Wageningen Agricultural University (the Netherlands) with a Master’s of Science. He has been working for the United Nations since 1984 – first for FAO in Pakistan, then at UNOPS HQs (New York), and from 1992 as UNDP Assistant Resident Representative in China.

Afterwards Mr. Broek worked for UNDP in different assignments: as Deputy Chief of the Country Office Support Division of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific in New York (1996-2000), as Senior Deputy Resident Representative in Ethiopia (2001-2004) and as Country Director in Burundi (2004-2008).

Mr. Broek is a citizen of the Netherlands. Apart from Dutch he speaks English, French and German.
