Filming Phase of Beyond the Sky Television Series Completed

The television series has been filmed within the framework of a Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria grant implemented by the United Nations Development Programme and aimed first and foremost at preventing HIV infection and reducing stigma and discrimination against HIV-positive people. Famous actors and actors who are just beginning their careers in the film industry, popular musicians, artists and sportsmen have starred in the film after going through the "people's casting."

The UNDP Country Office in Belarus expresses its gratitude to the filming team for their hard work and personal interest in the success of the project. At this time the team is getting ready to embark on the editing and final mixing phase.

Let us remind that the first Belarusian TV series for youth is called upon to break a number of stereotypes that are widespread in the area of HIV infection and AIDS, to tell about how necessary it is to take care of oneself and one’s friends, to facilitate the engagement of youth in the discussion of urgent issues related to the subjects of HIV infection and AIDS, and to shape a tolerant attitude towards people living with AIDS. The characters in the film are young people who are facing difficult situations that life challenges us with. It is a film about such eternal values as love, friendship, commitment and ability to come to the rescue at a difficult moment.

This cinematic project complies with the spirit of the Information Strategy on HIV/AIDS that was developed in Belarus with the participation of governmental, international, and non-governmental organizations and introduces standards of progressive social PR in the country.

A video preview of the television series can be viewed here.
