Project Objective & Brief Description: |
The aim of the project is to support the fullest attainable implementation of the rights of persons with disabilities in the Republic of Belarus in accordance with the international standards through the following outputs:
1. Carrying out necessary preparations for accession to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by Belarus;
2. Developing and testing a monitoring system of the situation of persons with disabilities and of their rehabilitation effectiveness;
3. Increasing awareness of the state bodies, general public and international community about the situation of PWD in Belarus;
4. Elaborating recommendations aimed at improving national policies regarding persons with disabilities;
5. Strengthening understanding of the rights, needs and potential of persons with disabilities among state bodies, employers, mass media, NGOs and the general public of Belarus. |
