A number of Christian churches have already developed concepts and resolutions to guide their work in the area of HIV/AIDS.
At the same time the Christian churches in Belarus feel the need to strengthen further their cooperation in the area of HIV/AIDS through developing a common vision, creating a platform for joint and coordinated programmes, and a mechanism for regular exchange of best practices and other thematic information.
Of particular interest are issues related
to provision of care and support to people living with HIV. Development of the
Strategy of Christian Churches Response to HIV/AIDS in Belarus and creation of
the Interchurch Information Resource Center on AIDS should serve the
above-mentioned purposes. The development of the Christian churches strategy on
AIDS should also facilitate involvement of faith-based organizations into
implementation of the National Strategy on AIDS and work of the National Council
on AIDS. |
