The objective of the NCSA was for Belarus to undertake a capacity assessment so that it can meet its requirements under the global environmental conventions, in particular those pertaining to biodiversity, climate change and land degradation. The NCSA process provided an opportunity to facilitate the development of concrete initiatives that would lead to synergistic approaches in addressing global environmental issues at the national and local level. It facilitated dialogue, information exchange and cooperation among ministries, scientific institutions and Academy of Sciences, NGOs and private sector. The main output of the process is the elaboration of a National Capacity Self Assessment Report and Action Plan. |
